The Healing Heroes Program is a fund that is available for animals with extraordinary medical needs. Having funds set aside for these special needs animals means that medical care and treatment can begin immediately without delay for fundraising. The Healing Heroes Fund allows AWA to continue accepting high risk animals from high euthanasia areas and shelters who do not have the capacity for medical care.
